Engineering

Engineering staff solves problems and makes things work more efficiently. They plan and design new construction and reconstruction of Mankato’s sanitary sewers, water mains, storm drainage systems, streets and sidewalks. Engineering staff inspects construction to ensure that codes and standards are met. Engineers monitor, analyze and modify traffic patterns. They also review and critique new site plans, developments and private improvement projects to assure consistent application of city codes and standards while fitting into the city’s long-range goals. City facilities are monitored for quality compliance and then mapped for location, coordination and repairs.
