A revised nuisance abatement ordinance was adopted by the City Council on March 28, 2007.  The changes more clearly define what conditions are considered nuisance conditions and provide more enforcement options to the enforcement officials.  The complete text of the new ordinance is found at section 9.77 of the Mankato City Code.

Staff is exploring a case management software that would streamline data entry and complaint processing and provide accurate statistics about the number and types of cases prosecuted by the City Attorney's Office.

Liquor licenses in Mankato expire every year on April 30.  Several license holders have completed the renewal process and their licenses will be renewed by the City Council at its meeting on April 9, 2007.  The remaining licenses are expected to be renewed by the City Council at its meeting on April 23, 2007.

Legal staff is working on a rewrite of the animal control ordinances. The new ordinances are expected to include provisions for dealing with dangerous dogs and limiting the number of animals in a household.   Public hearings on the changes will be scheduled once the rewrite is complete.
