English Flower Garden at Sibley Park by Debra Bergman
English Flower Garden at Sibley Park
by Debra Bergman

Our community is rich in natural and historic areas and sites that have been developed into more than 900 acres of quality park and recreation areas. The park areas available throughout Mankato feature a wide variety of recreational and leisure facilities, including neighborhood park playfields, playground equipment, basketball courts, tennis courts, walking and hiking trails, softball and baseball diamonds, fishing areas, nature areas, swimming areas and picnic areas.

Dogs are allowed on the walking/biking trails and in the following parks: F.A. Buscher, Erlandson, Highland, the Kiwanis Recreation Area, Land of Memories Park and Lions Park, which features special parks for dogs. Dogs are also allowed at Premier Pond and Rasmussen Woods and need to be on a leash. Otherwise, pets are prohibited in Mankato's parks.
