U.S. Highway 14 Regional Partnership
The U.S. Highway 14 Partnership in southern Minnesota is a mixture of stakeholders from the private sector, cities, counties and townships. The U.S. Highway 14 Partnership membership consists of 48 private sector affiliates and 25 local government members. Their common goal is to complete U.S. Highway 14 as soon as possible.
Communities along the U.S. Highway 14 corridor rely on U.S. Highway 14 for commerce and the safe movement of people throughout the region and to other parts of the state and nation.
Throughout the 1990s, transportation funding in rural Minnesota failed to keep pace with transportation needs. Under current funding plans, the fourlane expansion of U.S. Highway 14 could require 20+ years. Moving up the completion date is necessary in order to address critical public safety concerns along U.S. Highway 14 and to help stimulate economic development in communities along the corridor.
